In a Republic, actually
‘U.S.-born Pope Leo XIV pushed back Monday on President Donald Trump’s broadside against him over the U.S.-Israel war in Iran, telling reporters that the Vatican’s appeals for peace and reconciliation are rooted in the Gospel, and that he doesn’t fear the Trump administration.

“To put my message on the same plane as what the president has attempted to do here, I think is not understanding what the message of the Gospel is,” Leo told The Associated Press aboard the papal plane en route to Algeria. “And I’m sorry to hear that but I will continue on what I believe is the mission of the church in the world today.
[…]
“I will not shy away from announcing the message of the Gospel and inviting all people to look for ways of building bridges of peace and reconciliation, and looking for ways to avoid war any time that’s possible”. Speaking to other reporters, he added: “I have no fear of the Trump administration.”’

Authoritarian regimes – such as the authoritarian Trump regime – use fear and intimidation to silence opponents.

Standing up to authoritarian regimes and refusing to be intimidated is the most effective tactic, as authoritarians are fundamentally cowards – Trump is no different.

"Authoritarian regimes – such as the authoritarian Trump regime – use fear and intimidation to silence opponents."

While the Pope has not explicitly used the exact phrase "authoritarian Trump regime" in the provided search results........

You are a liar; Pope Leo said no such thing.

Nobody cares what the king in the pointy hat which sits upon his throne in Rome has to say.
I care, but at this stage I think the Pope needs to be taken in context. You will never get that context from the MSM. Most of what the Pope says is pretty standard Churchy stuff. And yes; if thou art indeed assailed by the forces of evil, then thou shalt smite the ...er....not nice people.

Yes, the Pope is now the enemy because he says war is wrong.

This is how far America has fallen.
The pope (by and large) has always been an passive enemy of what America stands for.

I don't know, for a bunch that claims they want to help people the Vatican is sitting on around 6b in gold at the Vatican alone.

.

He's a favorite of those leftist "media" who love rearranging words to supposedly mean what they want them to mean.

I remember a movie (old) where someone said that money may be filth and dirt BUT it's almost impossible to do great good without it....meaning the $ has to be busy assisting the Congregation donate to Peter's Pence...for the upkeep of the Vatican and Papal expenses. I'm sure that ten bucks does a lot of good.

Will Trump send in a Seal Team to capture the pope?

Look, I'm the last person to stick up for the Catholic Church, given what a miserable experience they turned my childhood into.

But the Church does a lot of good with its charities around the world, even if their dogma (like no birth control) contributes to the problems.

There are 70 million Catholics in the US. Are they all the "enemy" now because they won't pray to Cheeto Hitler (AKA the Anti-Christ?)
