Don't need bases there.. The IDF and Mosaad are by far more capable to be more modernized and sustainable as a force than we could ever help them to be. Monitor yes, but directly interfer on the battlefield NO !!! The same with Ukraine.

If we need to step in to help Israel, then we most certainly should. Iran is the enemy, and not Israel.

The US is assisting.....we help track missiles and drones so their Arrow3 and Iron Dome can effectively thwart the attacks.

So far, we have not fired a shot. Haven't needed to. That might change.

Currently Israel has air superiority over Iran. Iran has a LOT of missiles and drones. I'd dare say that with all the attacks Israel is performing that after command structure is obliterated the communications and supply lines are next. (Water and food deliveries are more important than fuel or munitions to soldiers).
