a. Anyone that denies racism still doesn't exist is a bald faced liar.
b. Anyone that denies "TRUE" racists shouldn't be held accountable is a hack.
Yes there's plenty of work to do, but unfortunately obama set back race relations half a century.
Half a century ago, most blacks couldn't vote in the South and they were still getting lynched, and most white people were against interracial marriage.
But yes, Obama sent the country back to Segregation.
Whenever race and Obama come up in the same sentence, what I recall most is two things: Obama's frank stupidity about thinking he had to weigh in on every issue where race was a factor. The episode that ended in the Beer Summit was entirely preventable but once he waded into it, he did about the best he could. The other thing that comes to mind was his minister. Now you're telling me that this minister knew Obama was a State Senator from Illinois and a US Senator, had married he and his wife...and they never talked politics? Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuul Shit!!!! Obama knew the minister's politics. That he wasn't called on it by the media is probably the #1 or #1a indication of just how in-the-bag the media was for Obama. Of course, again, Obama did probably the best he could with the Reverend Wright fiasco.
As for the thread and the healing of race relations, Obama wanted to address school children nationwide with a televised speech. The reaction to POTUS wanting to address school kids? Florida Republican Party Chairman Jim Greer last week accused Obama of trying to "indoctrinate America's children to his socialist agenda."
That was before even reading the speech. That was 8 months into his Presidency.
There is currently a thread in the conspiracy section--very recently started--that still question's Obama's place of birth.
It isn't even a serious question which "side" starts and fans the flames of racism most often.
