Pete Hegseth Paid Woman After Alleged Sexual Assault But Says Encounter Was Consensual
Pete Hegseth, Trump’s pick for secretary of defense, paid a woman an undisclosed amount after she accused him of sexual assault as part of a nondisclosure agreement, according to The Washington Post.

Hegseth’s lawyer told the Post that the encounter was consensual and that Hegseth was "visibly intoxicated" at the time. His lawyer also said that the police were called, but they concluded that the woman was the aggressor. Neither the Post nor HuffPost confirmed that with police.

Hegseth, a Fox News host, paid the woman because he feared that if she came forward, it "would result in his immediate termination from Fox," his lawyer told the Post.
