The three-month-old girl died in Prince Charles Hospital after being found unresponsive at a home in Zillmere early Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to a disturbance at the home on Hanford Road.

Police said they were treating her death as suspicious and appealed for anyone with dashcam footage from along Hanford Road between 4:30am and 6:30am to come forward.

The home remains taped off as a crime scene and a major investigation centre has been established at Boondall Police Station.
No charges laid over baby death in north Brisbane as homicide investigation continues

Poor baby.

Police won't lay charges until the investigation is done. They won't lay charges at all unless they have a case for conviction.

That means 'beyond a reasonable doubt conviction'. Those are very difficult to achieve in family violence situations where there are no witnesses or corroborating evidence.

Incredibly sad. There have been several child deaths of late in Brisbane at the hands of a parent; nothing I can add.
