The illegal camper shot by Albuquerque police this week was turning away from officers when they fired at him, according to video released by Chief Gorden Eden on Friday.

The shots come after a confrontation in which the man, identified as 38-year-old James Boyd, tells police he’s going to walk down the mountain with them.

“Don’t change up the agreement,” Boyd says. “I’m going to try to walk with you.”

He tells officers he’s not a murderer.

Boyd picks up his belongings and appears ready to walk down toward officers. An officer fires a flash-bang device, which disorients Boyd.

Boyd appears to pull out knives in both hands as an officer with a dog approaches him. He makes a threatening motion toward the officer, then starts to turn around away from police.

That’s when shots ring out, and Boyd hits the ground. Blood can be seen on the rocks behind him.

Albuquerque Police Chief Gorden Eden said officers were justified in shooting a man they said was illegally camping in the Sandia foothills Sunday night because the man made a “threatening” move towards officers.

But significant questions remain, including what killed the man.

An APD spokeswoman cut the news conference short, and Eden walked out while reporters were still asking questions. He did take a question during a brief interview with the Journal after the news conference.

At least one live round hit the man, but the Office of the Medical Investigator has not determined what killed the man, Eden said.

Eden said officers decided to use less-than-lethal force, including bean bag rounds, because the man picked up his backpack and said he was coming off the mountain.

Officers appeared to have the man surrounded, but Eden said they couldn’t wait him out because they couldn’t keep him contained within the perimeter due to the difficulty of the terrain.

Police Are More Dangerous To The Public Than Are Criminals

The American police perform no positive function. They pose a much larger threat to citizens than do the criminals who operate without a police badge. Americans would be safer if the police forces were abolished.

The police have been militarized and largely federalized by the Pentagon and the gestapo Homeland Security. The role of the federal government in equipping state and local police with military weapons, including tanks, and training in their use has essentially removed the police from state and local control. No matter how brutal any police officer, it is rare that any suffer more than a few months suspension, usually with full pay, while a report is concocted that clears them of any wrong doing.

In America today, police murder with impunity. All the psychopaths have to say is, “I thought his wallet was a gun,” or “we had to taser the unconscious guy we found lying on the ground, because he wouldn’t obey our commands to get up.”

"Police State: the Penalty for illegally Camping in New Mexico: DEATH"

The thread title is a lie.

No one was 'put to death,' nor did anyone suffer a 'death penalty,' the notion is unfounded demagoguery.

Moreover, the thread premise is idiocy, the United States is not a 'police state.'

Cop Who Killed Homeless Man Retiring Early with Full Benefits to Avoid Investigation

(TheAntiMedia) One of the officers that killed James Boyd is retiring early with full benefits and gets to avoid the Internal Affairs investigation by doing so. The local media in Albuquerque is trying to downplay his retirement by running headlines that indicate the exact opposite of the truth.

Officer Keith Sandy is the officer that made headlines and sparked outrage by stating he was going to shoot Boyd two hours before he did. He told a state law enforcement officer:

“For this fucking lunatic? I’m going to shoot him in the penis with a shotgun here in a second.”

Two hours later, Officer Sandy open fired and killed the man. Later the department tried to say that Sandy meant a Taser shotgun. Of course, Sandy didn’t shoot Boyd with a Taser. He opened fire and killed him while he was turning his back to the officers.

Boyd was indeed mentally ill. He had verifiable history of mental illness spanning more than a decade.

Now, Sandy is retiring early, getting his pension, and dodging an internal investigation. He will be paid 70% of his normal pay for the rest of his life. Boyd’s life is over.

If you really want to see corrupt police officers go to pine ridge Indian res, they are all Indians and they know no one wants to go to federal court for obvious reasons, so the local tribal representatives(cops) WILL FLEECE YA OF YOUR BELONGINGS ON THE SPOT.

Princess Jill could have been promoted to Queen by now but unfortunately English comprehension is not her forte.
