Because that is what the police claimed themselves.

I see no reason not to believe them. I do, however, question the term "harassed." Police knocking on your door and asking some questions is not harassing or unsettling in any way and nothing presented by the podcaster indicates this is not just hype to make some publicity. Don't like police knocking on your door and asking questions, tell them to go away. You don't have to say anything to them.
