It's been my opinion that prison doesn't help America's problem with drug abuse, and finally a cop agrees.......kind of.
If you say to people, Were going to punish you, youre not going to get people to volunteer to comply, said Weisman, a retired Columbus police sergeant. It doesnt motivate them.
Only when agencies begin rewarding for progress can they see more officers and troopers engage in a healthier lifestyle, he said.
The quote refers to whether there should weight requirements for state troopers, but the language is very vague.
If police know that these tactics do not work, why do they use them?
