Poles vote on Sunday in a presidential ballot that could place significant curbs on the power of their nationalist government.

President Andrzej Duda is an ally of the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party and if he loses, the opposition could force a big change in Polish politics.

His closest rival is the liberal, centre-right mayor of Warsaw, Rafal Trzaskowski.

Sunday's vote is expected to go to a run-off in two weeks' time.

The election is being watched closely across Europe, as Mr Duda's Law and Justice allies have frequently clashed with the EU over their controversial reforms to the judiciary and media.

Duda's pretty backwards.

Hope Duda wins. For sanity and for saving Europe or at least part of it.

President Duda has been reelected after winning the Second Round vote. This is excellent of course, we like President Duda.

The percentages in the Second Round from last night Duda 51.2% vs Trzaskowski 48.8% are not much different from the percentages in the Second Round from 2015 which was Duda 51.5% vs Komorowski 48.5%

WWII in Europe was accelerated by the pact that Poles had with the west to come to their defense....It could end up being the Poles who become the fulcrum to save all of western Europe 80 years later.

We ie. Rightists also had a MASSIVE win the other week in Croatia when the ruling Rightist Government of the HDZ (Croatian Democratic Union) swept the board in their General Election. The Rightist HDZ have been in control of Croatia for 23 years out of the last 30 years and now they will continue to rule Croatia for another 4 years.

^^^^ Excellent from Croatia, another nation giving the Leftists their WORST results in a LONG time, in Croatia their poorest result in the last three General Elections. NOBODY WANTS LEFTISTS, they might want them in Western European nations but EVERYWHERE else they are NOT wanted and each election illustrates this.
