Please help Mortimer its very important

I doubt the Brits would have lost without France by your side.

They would have won if they weren't constantly at war with France, period. Geopolitics matters, something the U.S. isolationists seem incapable of grasping. It was as much a war with Spain and France as it was against rebel colonials. Not long before the Revolution we were English and fighting the French in the western wildernesses; their Indian allies were about 15 of every 16 of their troops, and they were in proxy wars with Spain as well as us at the time. All the colonial wars were geo-political wars between European powers. They were never separate.

America’s contribution In WWI was too little, too late to be decisive

The addition of material and equipment was decisive at breaking the German front. It was Wilson's incompetence that led to the premature 'Armistice' and the failure to occupy Germany, which in turn led to WW I, Part Two a couple of decades later.

I didn´t say Frances helped out of sheer love for the 13 colonies.

Didn't say you did, just pointing out history doesn't get anyone on or off the hook a clean as ideologues wish it did.

And here is what bothers me so much about modern "scholarship." At what point did history become ethics? Why should we subvert the elusive search for facts to moralist concerns? So what if they are on or off the hook? If you want to be a preacher, go preach. If you want to save the world, go into politics. If you want to invent a world free of evil, take Prozac. It was said in Ecclesiastes and it still is true today, people suck. They did then, all of them. They do now, all of us.History is the history of self-interested, competing, aggressive, selfish, murderous humans. At what point did it become a morality play? -Dave WIlliams, George mason Univ.

Nothing better comes from making up false histories.

Yes, they did. The US never declares war, they just start firing at somebody. The German declaration of war was a mere formality.
Absolutely. A formal declaration of war on America by Germany. Lucky the US had many allies already fighting that war to assist its efforts.

Maybe not, maybe yes, how could we tell?
The policies of the west forced Germany and their citizens into the situation that started WWII.

The British were also complicit in orchestrating the conditions that lit off WWI.

The Soviets would eventually have exploited their conquests and overrun them.

If that were true, they would have eagerly taken land away from China who was much, much weaker. You are either a spook, or woefully ignorant of historical facts. But that is no surprise, the media and education system in the west lie to their citizens as much as in the east.

Conspiratard rubbish, as usual.

The U.S. bent over backwards to keep Germany up after WW I. Opposed the amount of sanctions, never mind they were doable and no more onerous than what Germany had forced on France a couple of decades earlier. In fact we paid their reparations for them for years, until Hitler repudiated paying us back.

Nope, all based on facts.

How the Treaty of Versailles and German Guilt Led to World War II

From the moment the leaders of the victorious Allied nations arrived in France for the peace conference in early 1919, the post-war reality began to diverge sharply from Wilson’s idealistic vision.

Hidden History: The Secret Origins of the First World War. Hardcover – September 1, 2014

A new theory on how World War I started—not with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, but rather 10 years earlier, by power-hungry men whose lies have infiltrated history

Hidden History uniquely exposes those responsible for World War I. It reveals how accounts of the war's origins have been deliberately falsified to conceal the guilt of the secret cabal of very rich and powerful men in London responsible for the most heinous crime perpetrated on humanity. For 10 years, they plotted the destruction of Germany as the first stage of their plan to take control of the world. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand was no chance happening. It lit a fuse that had been carefully set through a chain of command stretching from Sarajevo through Belgrade and St. Petersburg to that cabal in London. Our understanding of these events has been firmly trapped in a web of falsehood and duplicity carefully constructed by the victors at Versailles in 1919 and maintained by compliant historians ever since. The official version is fatally flawed, warped by the volume of evidence they destroyed or concealed from public view. Hidden History poses a tantalizing challenge. The authors ask only that you examine the evidence they lay before you.

Conspiratorial rubbish. You studiously avoid reading real history.
