China appears to be testing Trunp in the same way they successfully took islands under Obama. This will be a major test at some point and the timing isn't a coincidence I'm sure, they are doing so during trade negotiations and figure America will place trade over global security. I always felt that world powers wouldnt move on U.S allies with Trunp in power, of late I am not so sure Philippines Rejects Chinese Scarborough Shoal Nature Reserve Claim - USNI News.
Manila pushed back against China’s plans to create a national nature reserve at a disputed South China Sea maritime feature, a move officials say could increase the People’s Liberation Army’s foothold in the area.

China’s State Council plans to create a 3,523 hectare zone dedicated to the conservation of Scarborough Shoal’s coral reef ecosystem, according to an announcement last week. Plans released from the Chinese government encompass the maritime feature’s northern portion, further delineating sections of the disputed shoal into core, experimental and main protection areas.

“The State Council has instructed relevant government departments and local authorities to strictly implement the regulations on nature reserves, as well as provisions related to the development and management of protected areas,” reads an article from Chinese state media outlet Xinhua.

In response, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs issued a diplomatic protest, arguing Scarborough Shoal “is a longstanding and integral part of the Philippines over which it has sovereignty and jurisdiction.”

Um, except these Islands were never part of the territory of the Republic of the Philippines.
Or the US Commonwealth of the Philippines.
Or the Spanish Colony of the Philippines

They have, however, been internationally recognized as part of China going back to the Republic of China, the Qing Dynasty, and the Ming Dynasty.

The real question is, are we going to let Bongbong Marcos drag us into a war because the Filipinos said, "Hey, remember that guy who put us under Martial Law for a decade? The one with the crazy wife and the huge shoe collection? Yeah, let's elect their son! What could go wrong?"

Are you ready to compare threads started, big mouth?

You mean you think reposting someone else's ideas are contributing?

Isn't that special?

Hey, how about adding something of substance to this thread?

I did. I pointed out the Filipinos never had a valid claim to these Island, but the Chinese do.

Ready, big mouth?

See, you couldn't do it.

You couldn't make a substantial comment on the subject on this thread, which is not, "Who reposts more of other people's ideas".

Here's let's try again.

The Philippines (which did not exist as a country before 1946) has a claim to these Islands because .....

China has a claim to these Islands that was recognized under the Ming, Qing, Nationalists, and Communists.
