What is Jardiance?​

Jardiance (empagliflozin) is an FDA-approved tablet used to help control blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes and is also used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems in adults with heart failure or cardiovascular disease with type 2 diabetes. Jardiance lowers blood glucose levels (HbA1c) by helping the kidney increase the amount of glucose passing into the urine. Jardiance should be used together with diet and exercise when prescribed for type 2 diabetes.

Jardiance 10mg tablets are also used for chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adults that have risk of disease progression. In CKD Jardiance is used to reduce the risk of sustained decline in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), end-stage kidney disease, cardiovascular death and hospitalization.

Jardiance is from the class of medicines called SGLT-2 inhibitors (sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors). Jardiance works for type 2 diabetes by blocking SGLT-2 proteins located in the renal tubules of the kidneys, which are responsible for reabsorbing glucose back into the bloodstream.

There are a lot of fat cops here in Vegas too. My brother was a detective with Metro; he retired earlier this year. I remarked to him a few times about how so many of his colleagues were overweight. When my wife and I were in Paris last year during the Olympics that was one thing that stood out to us. All of the police were in peak condition. The female officers were all trim. The men were lean and muscular. There wasn't a single out of shape cop and we saw a lot of them with that event going on. Come back to Vegas and their guts are hanging over their duty belt.

The real question.....Is everyone in Philadelphia that fat or just the cops?

After looking at the Philly SD's web site it seems the Philadelphia Sheriff thinks the role of the Sheriff’s Office is to virtue signal, cosplay, pander, and appease.

That said I'm fairly certain they don't have any actual real police responsibilities. I think they basically just do transports from the jail to the courthouse and act as court security. Most big cities have absorbed their old traditional county SDs.
