Just finished watching this 1935 serial, starring Tom Tyler, and it was a laugh a minute.

The air ships were all bi-planes, and the hero and the villains were shooting at each other with revolvers. Don't know how, but some of the pilots even got hit.

The big kick was seeing Walter Brennan, (Grandpa Amos of the real McCoys) as a henchman.

With open cockpits. Sure, they had to be biplanes in order to get enough lift to stay afloat at the speeds they could generate.

Crack shots.

Grew up watching the Real McCoys. (hehheh) Walter was also in the very first 3 Stooges 2 reeler where he played a train conductor after Larry got married. Of course, he was a pretty young, pretty good looking guy then, you have to listen to his voice to recognize him.
