Peyton Manning announces retirement

Manning and Magic were on Jimmy Fallon and Magic made mention of Manning should come out of retirement to play for the Rams. So this was planned long ago and it was a formality.

Best QB of all time...

How he is better than Joe Montana you retarded mutherfucker?
Brady is better than Montana
Peyton just didn't have the playoff record....too many one and dones

Brady is not better than Montana because Montana never lost a SB
Joe Montana lost 12 Super Bowls. If you can't even get your team to the Super Bowl, you have lost that season

Brady has gotten his team to the Super Bowl six times and won four. The two he lost against the Giants, he had his team in the lead with two minutes left. Patriot defense lost both times

Brady never had HOF receivers Rice and Taylor to throw to.

4-0 is better than 4-2
No it's not

A team not making the Super Bowl is not better than a team who does

I saw Joe play at Notre Dame. Check out his Cotton Bowl
Great QB. I always thought Montana was the best I ever saw

Brady is better

Dan Marino never won a superbowl and is easily one of the top five quarterbacks to ever play the game. That puts the stupid superbowl's won or lost argument to rest.

Also the rule changes that have made it easier for quarterbacks and receivers should be taken into account to put achievements in context. Montana, Marino, Elway, Kelly, etc. did not have the luxury of these rules to run up stats like Peyton and Brady. Not to say Peyton and Brady aren't greats, just be honest and judge it with context.

What did Marino help his team accomplish? I don't want to hear about individual stats

In 2014, Peyton Manning set the all-time mark for most passing touchdowns in an NFL career, but that is far from his only record after 18 seasons in the NFL. Here are Manning's major records in a career that is a lock for Canton.

Marino never had a great defense or great running game to back him up. He did have some good receivers like Clayton, Duper, etc. but not many. He was also clutch in crunch time. You could never count him out with time left on the clock. He carried Dolphin teams to the playoffs year after year despite not always having a great team around him.

Did he go beyond the 1st round of the playoffs often?

Was there a season where he started every game and his team missed the playoffs?

Peyton made his team better, no doubt Joe was a great quarterback but he was also on the best team in NFL history...
Peyton never had a team that approached Joe's...

How does not making a Super Bowl exceed getting there and losing?

Brady won four Superbowls/Montana won four Superbowls
Brady won six AFC Championships/ Montana won four NFC Championships
Brady appeared in nine AFC Championships/ Montana appeared in seven AFC/NFC Championships
Brady playoff record 22-9/ Montana playoff record 16-7
Both are two time MVPs
Brady 58,000 yds passing/ Montana 40,500 yds
Brady 428 TD-150 Int/ Montana 273 TD-139 Int
Brady QB rating 96.4/ Montana 92.3

Very close, but Brady has an advantage

You could make a good argument for either Manning, Montana or Brady.

Montana played in a different era, had great defenses, supported by a good running game and great receivers.

Brady played in the passing era with rule changes that favored the QB, he had average or below receivers, a good running game and good defenses.

Manning played in the passing era with rule changes that favored the QB, he had good to great receivers, a good running game and bad defenses with exceptions of the years he won Super Bowls.
