Pew Research Center Data

Note: The Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan American think tank based in Washington, D.C. It provides information on social issues, public opinion, and demographic trends shaping the United States and the world.

A new survey by Pew Research Center (conducted among 6,174 Americans over eight days ending July 4th) shows the majority of Americans disapprove of the U.S. Supreme Court’s expected ruling overturning Roe v. Wade.

But the Court’s catastrophic decision on abortion is just the beginning for the USSC. The oppressive anti-choice laws already passed in red states coupled with red states’ laws restricting voter eligibility have demonstrated the “will of the majority” means nothing to conservatives (or a certain segment of moderates).

But you people ain’t seen nothin’ yet, wait until January 3, 2023, when the trumpublicans are again in control of Congress. That same majority opposed to overturning Roe v Wade can expect many, many more convoluted reinterpretations of the United States Constitution from the corrupted, right-wing Supreme Court Justices. Add this to the constant insanity flowing from the current trumpublicans in Congress and the nuttiness to be contributed by the new trumpublicans elected November 8th, the (formerly) democratic United States will be unrecognizable to all who knew her.

Whether the country becomes an oppressive, hypocritical, conservative Christian theocracy or an autocratic plutocracy (it’s most likely the billionaires will win this contest), by the spring of 2023, third world countries will be paradises compared to the U.S. This has been a goal sought by the GOP since the 1960s and will soon be achieved with over four decades of help from moderate Democrats like Manchin, Sinema, and... “Status Quo Joe” Biden.

With the inevitable changes coming to the U.S. Government early next year, the loyal, rank-and-file trumpublican voters will have served their purpose and will no longer be a necessary part of the process. Due to this development, among those reinterpretations of the Constitution, the Second Amendment will also be on the chopping block.

The former law you note is because we are worried about your souls.
The latter law you note is because we are worried about our souls.
Maybe one day you will see the light.

Not surprised, Pew is chock full of Ivy League and liberal arts school leftists.

That said, like many Americans, I would have preferred the 15-week Roberts angle but I guess RvW had to die first. Maybe now Congress can codify a 15 week "right".

It's really on them at this point but I don't suspect they will do anything so it's up to the states till such time as congress nuts-up and legislates.

Hopefully, personhood will be given to the unborn, making all abortion illegal.

We will see. My understanding is that Dobbs didn't slam the door completely shut on a right to abortion.

There is no window suitable for baby-killing. Alito had it right.

Who cares.

The law is decided upon by folks that have law degrees, and years of legal experience, not by folks whose opinions are propagandized and given to them by pundits on TEE VEE.

Most folks don't even understand the true implications of what overturning that decision mean, they are only told what their opinion will be.

The poll? Is bogus, because of the questions it asked in the first place, IS NOT representative of how MOST AMERICANS truly feel.

THIS, RIGHT HERE;

". . .About six-in-ten Americans (62%) say abortion should be legal in all (29%) or most (33%) cases. Around a third of the public (36%) says abortion should be illegal in all (8%) or most (28%) cases.

Two-thirds of women (66%) say abortion should be legal in most or all cases, compared with a narrower majority (57%) of men.

About seven-in-ten Black (71%) and Asian (78%) adults say abortion should be legal in most or all cases. Smaller majorities among White (60%) and Hispanic (61%) adults also say this.. . "

IS? Frankly agenda driven garbage.

MOST American believe that abortion should be illegal if the baby could survive as a premature birth, or is clearly on the way to being developed, i.e. no longer just a clump of cells, and it is . . . MURDER.

Was this PEW poll funded by baby organ harvesting operations? :dunno:

How about an honest poll that really had honest questions, with nuance, that really reflect how ALL Americans really feel?

". . The new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research finds 61% of Americans say abortion should be legal in most or all circumstances in the first trimester of a pregnancy. However, 65% said abortion should usually be illegal in the second trimester, and 80% said that about the third trimester. . . "

Maybe if outsiders see us more terrible than third world countries, they'll quit trying to sneak in since your worthless President has no plans to stop them.

SC justices are not supposed to conduct themselves like politicians and make judgements based on polls. It's why our founders didn't want them to be elected officials. They wanted them to rule solely based on law and the Constitution itself. So what our founders did (according to your article) was successful.

In the hyperlink of your article I found this:

Methodology

The American Trends Panel survey methodology

Overview

The American Trends Panel (ATP), created by Pew Research Center, is a nationally representative panel of randomly selected U.S. adults. Panelists participate via self-administered web surveys. Panelists who do not have internet access at home are provided with a tablet and wireless internet connection. Interviews are conducted in both English and Spanish. The panel is being managed by Ipsos.

So bottom line, this is an internet survey and there is no telling the political leanings of participants given they were "randomly" selected. Furthermore I found no sample of the question asked and how it was worded. Thanks to the Democrats lying about this decision, it makes me wonder how many people know that this decision did not outlaw abortions. It only took away constitutional protections that it never really had.
