A Constitutional Republic that guarantees the rights of the minority position with a Democratic process of representation is the best we can hope for under the rule of mankind.

All forms of govt default back to the tyranny of authoritarianism if not safeguarded, restrained & watched closely/constantly.
We failed to do this & that's why our system is on the fast track to collapse.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Therefore the level of corruption will commensurate with the level of power held.
Modern/post 1980 corporatism has completely taken over the federal government.
The best example of this is Obamacare and Big Pharma. Democrats will ***** and moan about how cheaper medicines are in Canada vs. the United States. But have no idea that it was their lord and savior Obama than made that happen. The Democrats could not pass Obamacare without the support of Big Pharma. So - they did the deal with the devil that included Big Pharma getting paid top dollar for their medicines.

Look it up. It's true.
Not to say Republicans are not also totally in the tank with Big Pharma. They are. 100%.
But it is more glaring that Democrats praise the ones who ultimately made it happen.
