Whites did it to blacks from about 1700 until around 1960ish.
What's the problem here?
Her ancestors took it from whites. If it had been your ancestors you'd probably still have a chip on your shoulder as well.
Did whites involved in the brutal racism of those 260 years think it would all just go away and we'd all be happy lambs once blacks gained equality?
All she had to do was clarify that it was "Some or many" whites.....but not "All whites" That would have been 100% honest.
This entire divisive / racist thing isn't going away just because you think it should.
In fact, I seriously doubt all the reparations in the world could ever make it go away.
Maybe instead of trying to call blacks who point out history as "racist" you should try to empathize and understand.
There is in fact some foundational basis for their anger. Southern America was horribly brutal to blacks for a long time.
On the other hand...I will totally agree that SOME blacks take the anger too far and some probably just use it as a means to a financial end.
Regardless of how evil whitess were in the past, to have enslaved black folx, it is in the best interest of blacks not to carry a chip on their shoulder. Democrats enslaved blacks until the late 1860's and kept them oppressed until the late 1960's. Then they realized that blacks could be a powerful voting block if only they could get them back on the plantation.
Instead of encouraging them to rise in the free market, as the GOP did, they expanded FDR's welfare state and encouraged them to think that welfare was a benefit, sent cocaine and heroin to their neighborhood, enjoyed the resulting cheap prostitution as Dems in small towns have always done, and laughed as black literacy fell while black illegitimacy skyrocketed.
Sure, the white Dems allowed some of the blacks who were willing to organize communities to vote for Dems to advance and even hold office. But they have never and will never respect them, for who could respect someone whose only qualification for respect is victimhood?
The wrongs of slavery will never be righted. it would be impossible to do so. You could cling to that hatred for generation after generation, but you'd be better off in a post-racial world.
Luckily, you don't have to wait for all other blacks to be on board with post-racialism. Just find work at small to medium size, non-unionized businesses, especially in Texas. They are always looking for hard workers, who make them money and they don't give a damn what color the hard-working money maker is. If you work hard, you'll get a good wage. If you work hard and show initiative, you will climb the ladder. If your crew is more productive than any other supervisor's crew, you'll be first in line for the manager job, even if the others are named Sven Svenson and Jon Johnson.
