A professor employed at a Catholic university in Pennsylvania said on camera that there are merits to the claim that it’s ethical for White people to commit suicide.
"White people should commit suicide as an ethical act," said a quote in a slide for a presentation hosted by Duquesne University psychology professor Derek Hook.
In the lecture, which was presented to Baltimore-based American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work in June, Hook quoted a South African philosophy professor, Terblanche Delport, who has written about White people committing suicide in South Africa, before further discussing the comments and arguing "there was something ethical in Delport’s statements."

"If the goal is to dismantle white supremacy, and white supremacy is white culture … then the goal has to be to dismantle white culture and ultimately white people themselves. The total integration into Africa by white people will also automatically then mean the death of white people as white as a concept would not exist anymore," the quote continued.

After reading the quotes, Hook said, "I want to suggest that psychoanalytically we could even make the argument that there was something ethical in Delport’s statements."

This is dangerous to even have in the news i have lost a family member to suicide 11 years ago , and its still hurts so much a friend also died last year to suicide they both had mental health issues if someone who is feeling suicidal reads this it will make them think that its OK to do so when its not ,

my family member walked out the house at 5 am and got a bus to the place they died a young woman found thier body, so she was traumatized by this and my family were also traumatized by this now i no longer have anything to do with some members of my family for my own mental health sake ,

my friend had tried to kill herself many times she then got what she wanted this friend helped me when i was attacked years before she looked after me and helped me through that time , she would do anything for anyone ,

a year after her death i have found Jesus its hard living without them but one thing i am making sure i do is living .

this statement by this person isnt just dangerous for being racist its also dangerous to say that suicide is OK , it not and people who are unwell might think this gives them the green light to do so

Suicide is nothing to joke about. I lost a friend to suicide almost 40 years ago, and it it still hurts. I STILL wonder if there was anything I could've done to help prevent it.

Me too if there was something i could have done for them both i would but they were both so very unwell , with my family member i blamed myself for a very long time , i though would have been able to tell he was feeling this way because i also have mental health issues myself and had tried to also take my life a few times before , my friend was just hurting so much and no matter what we did to help her she was in too much pain to go on , pray for them both my family members anniversary of their death is September 17 11 year since it happened very hard time for both me and my family .
