No, it's not always beyond legal limits. If the child is very young, such as no more than 4 or 5, and there's nothing sexual about the shower or bath and the child is not uncomfortable with it or finds it inappropriate, I'm not aware of any law in any state that prohibits it.

Nothing needs to be added obviously she wrote it for a reason. People like her who go experiences like that often tend to understate them retrospect.
