Pawlenty says "live within your means". I guess that's why Minnisota's deficit is project to be at 5.4 billion dollars. The guy is as incompetent as George Bush. He slashed funding for police and firemen and then signed an executive order to put together a commission to find out why they have no funds, and all before leaving on a trip to Brazil.
His charter school program, once touted as the future of schools, is a diaster.
Worse, he is anti science and believes "mysticism" should be taught as an alternative to science.
I think he would be a great running mate for "witchcraft" Palin.

He's a budget CUTTER and that is exactly what this country needs. In my state we have a balanced budget amendment, no one's job is SECURE. When we are in recession so is the state, county and local government. It they have to trim police, fire etc. they will. They are the last that are cut, but if need be they are cut too.

With this administration they can not even cut 100 million out of a 10 trillion dollar deficit. It's insane. Obama keeps having the lavish parties, flys Air Force one over Mahattan costing a few more million more to get a photo, scaring the be-jesus out of the residents there.

There's your difference. There is absolutely NO commitment to cutting anything no matter how ridiculous and un-needed the out of control spending is.

More on Governor Pawlenty- a shot across the bow of the legislature and the local governments in his state. This shows leadership, a backbone of steel, and it gets the job done. Palin did the same thing in Alaska, she was a budget cutter and even cut the personal expense of the Governor's office while she was there. This is what the U.S needs people with courage, backbones made of steel, and a willingness to make the tough decisions and stand by them. Gov. Tim Pawlenty will not cut state aid payments to Minnesota cities and counties this month.

When state budget officials announced last week that the state faces a $1.2 billion deficit in its current two-year budget, Pawlenty said that he might withhold some of the $437 million in local aid payments scheduled to go to cities, counties and townships in December.

But in a letter to local government officials sent Tuesday, the governor said he would not unilaterally cut their state funding — for now.

"Given the imminent expected payment of December local aid, I have determined that additional local aid cuts, if any, should be focused on future payments," he wrote.

But he said that if the 2010 Legislature fails to cut state spending, future local government aid payments likely would be reduced

I listened to Senator Hatch last night and he stated he knows of no-one in the Obama administration that has ANY private sector experience or practical knowledge, not one of them have ever had to meet a payroll.
