Maybe. But I think both "sides" are pretty happy with the current arrangement. If there ever were single-party rule, likely, eventually - that party would be toppled. But by agreeing to swap back and forth every few years, and keep everyone playing the lesser-of-two-evils game, both parties are permanently entrenched. Win/win!

Five minutes after saying we should not have factions, the Founders formed into two.

It is human nature.

Jefferson thought we would always be an agrarian nation. At the time, more than 90 percent of the population was involved in farming in one way or another.

Today, only 2 percent of our population is involved in farming, and we feed the entire world.


Hamilton, on the other hand, built the foundation which would make us the financial powerhouse of the world. The man was a colossal genius.

So Jefferson and Hamilton butted heads from the get-go.

And then there was the slavery issue which also split our country in two.

The good thing is that in most obvious elections there is a mushy middle of voters that can vote for the other party if they appear to have a better candidate. In 2024 many democrat union, minority, and women voters obviously saw how bad Kamala was and voted Trump. Will they stay GOP in 2026 or 2028 we'll see.
