Paris launches huge manhunt after priceless Napoleonic jewels stolen from the Louvre

Stolen Louvre loot unlikely to be recovered: Experts

ā€œIf I steal a Van Gogh, it’s a Van Gogh. I can’t dispose of it through any other channel than an illicit art market,ā€ said Marc Balcells, a Barcelona-based expert in crimes against cultural heritage.

ā€œBut when I am stealing … jewellery, I can move it through an illicit market as precious stones.ā€

The head of security at the Louvre Museum was a diversity hire who was chosen because of her characteristics rather than ā€œcompetenceā€, French sovereigntist politician Marion MarĆ©chal said as she demanded heads roll after last week’s jewel heist.

The plot thickens.

They were dressed as construction workers, right down to the day-glo vests.

Not that I have any want to go to Europe. But we are seeing the ending of white history there. Hopefully some China billionaire will have the famous paintings stolen before they just get thrown in the woodchipper.

Of course it could be a coincidence.

That’s literally what a coincidence is.

I’m becoming convinced a huge swath of the population doesn’t understand what a coincidence is…..

And the fact that, for example, on the same day in 1944, a bunch of soldiers died in such different and distant places as Normandy, Italy, Russia, and China—is that also just a coincidence? A strange, inexplicable coincidence?

What?

Most likely just a couple of unarmed security who will back off to someone who looks stronger than them.
I mean, they should risk their lives to protect jewelry while making $20/hr at most?

They aren't as just as here will look the other way as someone shoplifting.
Loss prevention officers definitely don’t just look the other way in grocery/department stores

Armed, professional jewelry thieves are completely different from some random shoplifter, though
