Parisians have been warned to stay away from the river. Surrounding roads have been flooded and disruption to the city’s transport network continues. Authorities said the river could pass the 6.1-metre (20ft) level of 2016, the highest in more than 100 years.
Paris is on flooding alert as the river Seine continues to rise.
