Donald Trump's choice of Kash Patel for director of the FBI is sending shockwaves throughout
DC.
Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe went into complete meltdown Sunday as he whined that Patel would spearhead a campaign of 'retribution.'
McCabe, who backed the Russian interference investigation into Trump, claimed that Patel - a Trump loyalist - would use the FBI to further the president-elect's political agenda and crackdown on his enemies.
His rant on CNN went viral as people were stunned by the apparent hypocrisy in his criticism of Patel, while he has previously
made wild claims that Trump was a Russian 'asset.'
Trump said on Saturday he wanted Patel, a former National Security official and loyalist, to lead the FBI, signaling an intent to drive out the bureau's current director, Christopher Wray.
Patel, who during Trump's first term advised both the director of national intelligence and the secretary of defense, has previously called for stripping the FBI of its intelligence-gathering role and purging its ranks of any employee who refuses to support Trump's agenda.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) called Patel a 'very strong nominee,' telling CBS 'Face the Nation' he should come in and 'clean out the corrupted partisans.' He said it was 'no secret to anyone' that Wray would not continue to serve as head of the FBI.
Taking a more nuanced position was Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa). 'Chris Wray has failed at fundamental duties of FBI Dir He’s showed disdain for cong oversight & hasn’t lived up to his promises It’s time 2 chart a new course 4 TRANSPARENCY +ACCOUNTABILITY at FBI,' Grassley posted on X. 'Kash Patel must prove to Congress he will reform &restore public trust in FBI,' he wrote.

Patel had been competing for the job with former FBI agent and congressman Mike Rogers,
before Rogers was dismissed as a candidate last week after he was opposed by several MAGA Republicans in Trump's orbit.
As he announced Patel for the top intelligence job, Trump praised the MAGA loyalist as a 'fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People.'
'He played a pivotal role in uncovering the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, standing as an advocate for truth, accountability, and the Constitution,' Trump wrote.
'Kash did an incredible job during my First Term, where he served as Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense, Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council.
Commentary:
Kash Patel's mere appointment by Trump will cause a wave of ideologically driven resignations and early retirements and that will be a significant effect right there.
Fortunately for those who are concerned, given the equal treatment under the law which is the hallmark of our justice system, those who are innocent have nothing to fear. That’s how it’s supposed to work. Right?
In an interview Kash Patel claimed he will empty the Hoover Building of agents and send them out to fight crime.
He needs to show NO mercy and get rid and prosecute the conspiring traitors.
It's pretty obvious that the federal agencies have been corrupted, and highly politicized. Any attempt to clean up the justice system, which I view as necessary, is going to cause those who actively participated in the corruption to lose sleep.
Suddenly FBI management is nervous and afraid. The took no issue with weaponizing their agency for political purposes. Do you really believe it to be a coincidence that the prosecution against Trump began after he announced he was running for president again?
I wonder just how many shedders will be burned out in the Hoover Building before 21 January 2025.
