Moondude, I figure this was all a parlor trick. Would they pick some batsh#t crazy for a cabinet posts? Obviously. But this was misdirection from the beginning. DOJ is important, needs expertise and experience if going to get enough out it. It got Gaetz out of the House before the House Judiciary report release date, kept the press entertained with leaked tidbits of the report, that would have never been able to keep secret, in that damned town. Everybody, including Trump campaign, was aware of Matt's problem (failings), as report not released but does anybody believe there wasn't a direct line to what they knew, straight to the Republican leadership and Trump campaign? Hell no. Of course they knew. Bondi was probably the real choice from the beginning, but this ploy allowed Gaetz to leave as if preparing for the big DOJ job. Bondi simply has a few campaign finance and influence issues, similar to probably darn near every politician in DC, probably nothing to write home about. And, she actually has been a lawyer, not just somebody that had a piece of paper. She was a prosecutor. She was AG for something like 7+8 years of 3 largest state in the country, and Trump's own lawyer, also a big plus to the Donster. Having your lawyer be the actual AG, is a lot better than trying to use the White House lawyer as your personal attorney, like last time. Being a lobbyist and relatively smart, she also knows quite a bit of how Washington works. It is unlikely you or I would agree with her politics, but that is immaterial, as she has the all the checkmarks needed to handle the position, whether people of the other party like it or not, and that is what it take to sail through the Senate.
