Under-Secretary General for Legal Affairs said:
Prior to the adoption of resolution 67/19, Palestine was treated as an entity for United Nations purposes. Palestine was not identified as a State or a country nor could its authorities be identified as a government, Pursuant to resolution 43/177 of 15 December 1998, the designation *Palestine" was used in place of the designation "Palestinian Liberation Organization" in the United Nations.

Israeli talking points!

Israel has no defined territory. Israel sits on unceded Palestinian territory.
(COMMENT)

Palestine was considered a "Legal Entity" until 2012; and not a State or a Country.

Recognition by the UN or any state is purely political. There are no legalities involved.

Palestinian talking points! “ Palestine” has no defined territory, unlike Israel . Please show us where the UN declared “ Palestine “ to be a Country? Gaza was officially noted to be part of Egypt and E Jerusalem and the W Bank were officially noted to be part of Jordan 🇮🇱

There are two (2) documents that should be added to everyone's library as a means of reference:

EXCERPT (From Memo 25 FEB 1948):

Palestine is today a legal entity but it is not a sovereign state. Palestine is a territory administered under mandate by His Majesty (in respect of the United Kingdom), who is entirely responsible both for its internal administration and for its foreign affairs.
After the 15th May, 1948, Palestine will continue to be a legal entity but it will still not be a sovereign state because it will not be immediately self-governing. The authority responsible for its administration will, however, have changed.

This claim by P F Tinmore is only true in part. It should be taken in the proper context as shown in the two links made in the opening. But we all must keep in mind that the anti-Israelis, pro-Palestinians, and Hostile Arab Palestinians (generally speaking) only recognize that which they believe supports their position. And anything that supports their position is "political" and not binding.

CONVENTION ON RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF STATES said:
ARTICLE 3

The political existence of the state is independent of recognition by the other states. Even before recognition the state has the right to defend its integrity and independence, to provide for its conservation and prosperity, and consequently to organize itself as it sees fit, to legislate upon its interests, administer its services, and to define the jurisdiction and competence of its courts.

The exercise of these rights has no other limitation than the exercise of the rights of other states according to international law.

There are such things as "statements of facts" and those that are "political positions."

It must be remembered that prior to the end of The Great War (WWI), the Palestinian Territory was under Ottoman Sovereignty. After The Great War (WWI), the Palestinian Territory was under the Mandate for Palestine and administered by the British Government under the authority of the Allied Powers at the conclusion of the war until its termination in 1948.

We also must remember, that in a child-like fashion, the anti-Israelis, pro-Palestinians, and Hostile Arab Palestinians do not recognize any position that is not in direct support of their own position. There is little use in trying to enter into any meaningful dialog otherwise.

Not so. The Mandate called Palestine a country many times.
the Palestinian Territory was under the Mandate for Palestine and administered by the British
The Mandate had no territory, borders, or sovereignty. Sovereignty remained in the hands of the Palestinians as subsequent UN Resolutions affirmed.
