Autopsy reveals Palestinian minister was murdered

The death Palestinian Minister Ziad Abu Ein was the result of beating, teargas-induced asphyxiation and obstruction by the Israeli army to transfer him to a hospital on time, a Palestinian official said, citing official forensic results.
Palestinian Civil Affairs Minister Hassan Al-Sheikh, detailing the forensic results to the official Palestinian radio station today, asserted that the findings show that Abu Ein, who was fatally injured yesterday during an Israeli clampdown on a Palestinian protest against settlements and the Separation Wall near Ramallah, had been "murdered".

"The forensic report is an essential piece of evidence of Israel's responsibility [for Abu Ein's death]," Al-Sheikh said following yesterday evening's autopsy.

an Israeli doctor was present during the autopsy and he confirmed that the process was carried out "professionally", Al-Sheikh explained.


The Israeli army said it is reviewing the circumstances of Abu Ein's participation in the protest and his subsequent death.

I see a shoulder/collar push, I don't see a thumb on the neck. He might have been pushing hard against the soldier as much or more so than the soldier was pushing against him.

Was he trying to reach for a soldiers weapon? Was he trying to fight with the shoulder causing a response of the shove? The soldier was the only one without a helmet, did Ziad pull or knock it off in the moments before the picture? Is that why the soldier push him back?

With the mass of people behind him, he might well have crushed or hearth stressed from the pushing behind and on either side of him.

Why was the mass trying to push and close in so close to the soldiers if it was just a peaceful demonstration?

The Minister has health problems and died of natural causes. Autopsy did not show a neck injury damaged larynx or broken hyoid. The shove was not the "cause" of death.

He had a heart attack. That is the cause of death. Contributing factors were his diabetes and high blood pressure.

Zaid had the responsibility of diet, exercise, lower his stress and taking his medicine. Third he obviously did not follow.

Why did the protester not allow the emergency crew to take over for the soldier in giving Zaid CPR, applying a nitro patch or even defibrillating him? How much are the palestinians themselves to blame for contributing to his death?

Thank you. I had not yet seen the before and after of the push. Zaid is seen starting the confrontation leading to the push and was well enough after to speak and move around before the heart attack. The soldier obviously tried to help him before emergency crew could get to him. The soldiers tried to keep the mass back and give Zaid and the on site medic room. Zaid was being pushed from all sides before the heart attack by his own people.

The soldier and the IDF were not the cause of his death.
