Ozzy, has left the building.....

Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness, dead at 76

Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Prince of Darkness and one of heavy metal’s most iconic stars, has died. He was 76.
He died “surrounded by love,” his family said in a statement to The Sun on Tuesday. “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”
News of Osbourne’s death comes more than five years after he announced his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in January 2020.

Sad, very sad....
RIP Ozzy, you rocked me for the last 50 odd years!!!
My Brother who passed at 53 was a rocker, played in many local heavy metal bands. He got his start listening to Black Sabbath, and so then I did too. I was 4 years younger so I got my start listening to iconic bands early. He used to riff in his room listening to Black Sabbath and taught himself to play guitar, he was very good, and although I never heard him sing in public many say he sang just like ozzy. He was definitely my brothers idol. This is sad

Since I am not and have never been a heavy metal fan--avoid it as much as possible--I haven't given Ozzy a great deal of thought over the years. Am much more familiar with his wife, Sharon. When I think of Ozzy Osborne it is usually in the context of her passionately and emphatically defending him when he has been criticized or insulted. She really did seem to love the guy a lot. I guess she was his road manager for most of his career.
You don't have to be a big fan of Black Sabbath to hear some of their music. I am not a big fan by any means, I preferred more blues based bands, but they had some memorable songs that a younger generation appreciate for their raw delivery.

I guess I've not found any of their music that was memorable to me. But then I probably haven't listened to any of their stuff all the way through either. I am extremely eclectic in my musical tastes--classical, opera, big band, blues, jazz, country, pop, folk, easy listening or whatever, but I just can't appreciate heavy metal. (Sorry Montrovant!) (Inside joke in the Coffee Shop for those who don't know LOL.)

I've enjoyed Ozzie since the 70s. From what I know about him, somebody should poke him with a stick first, just to make sure this isn't another one of his outrageous stunts.

Glad I was able to see him in 93 at Shoreline Amphitheatre. I was supposed to see him again in 2019 but concert was canceled because he fell and broke his bone, don't recall exactly. After that incident, he never went on tour again. I still have the tour T-shirt
