Outdoor San Francisco city meeting moved inside after protester throws brick toward stage

A San Francisco Board of Supervisors meeting held outside focusing on the city's drug crisis was forced to move indoors due to protests and heckling and after one person, who was later taken into custody, threw a brick towards the stage. NBC News’ Jacob Ward reports.

Why was the brick thrown? London Breed announced that the open air drug markets would be closed. Addicts would be taken off the street for treatment and the police would start arresting those who were breaking into cars.

Someone started whistling the national anthem and the crowd chanted no more cops.

Obviously, anyone who might have cared already left. San Francisco will continue its collapse.

Arrest whoever creates the disturbance and continue on with the meeting. To me, there was no reason to re-locate unless the weather started working its "magic".

If they want to continue being a city where people want to visit, they damn sure better be thinking about getting rid of people like these addicts, or they're going to see a collapse that will rival the earthquakes the city has endured.

The residents that are left, like the same in Portland, want it this way. Visitors are just prey. If anyone does visit, it's volunteering to be robbed. The movie, Escape from New York was a prophesy. No one expected that there would be more than one.

What I think will probably happen: Eventually these areas will be put under private security contracts with a carte blanche legal blanket. The government will have no choice imo. Highly trained human exterminators will clear areas by any means necessary and do it with impunity. At that point they will be chanting: "Bring back the cops".... But unfortunately no one will be listening.
