The police are part of our community. They live among us, mow their lawns, raise their children and like the rest of us they are worker bees-but they risk it all to keep us safe. Now they are a group that is under attack.
Hillary Clinton wrote her college thesis on Saul Alinsky who authored “Rules for Radicals”, a handbook on how to bring down a functioning society. What we are witnessing in our collapsing culture didn’t happen overnight. It has come upon us like a creeping, lethal disease. It’s the same disordered thinking that has destroyed Europe and it has its roots in academia, politics, mass media and the Democratic Party. There is a toxic strategy afoot in the Democratic Party that had its genesis with Lyndon Johnson’s “Great society”. That strategy addresses societal conditions in terms of groups not individuals. So we have blacks against whites, men against women, rich against poor, old against young, sick against healthy.
Since the mid 1960’s we have seen the orchestrated de-individualization of the American citizen in favor of identity politics not for the benefit of individuals but for the expansion of central authority populated with petty officials, intellectuals and bureaucrats who believe they can engineer outcomes by balkanizing the citizenry.
When America escaped the yoke of the British Empire and the Bill of Rights was authored many European intellectuals considered America a grand experiment because it was unique in the respect that it recognized the rights of individuals without respect to class or social status. When the founders said all men are created equal they did not mean that all men are identical. They meant that all men are individuals with rights of individuals to control their destinies. This included black Americans which led to the Civil War- a war fought to regard blacks as individuals not a group.
Millions of white Americans died in that civil war to grant individual status to black Americans and free them from the stigma of the group. Lincoln’s elegantly concise speech at Gettysburg recognized the experimental nature or our nation when he said we are tested to see if we can long endure. He also said that government of the people, by the people and for the people shall not perish from the Earth. Lincoln knew that this is the only place it exists and once it’s gone here it’s gone everywhere.
Beginning in the 1960’s the Democratic Party went to the dark side with a return to regarding blacks as a group not as individuals. Spearheaded by wrongheaded socialist intellectualism it implemented programs including the failed War on Poverty that introduced a plague of single motherhood into the black community creating a rudderless existence for black children devoid of role models .The Democratic Party essentially re-enslaved blacks with a kind of plantation politics contingent upon out-of-wedlock births that encouraged them to game the system rather than work hard to raise intact families and take their rightful place among their American brethren to be judged by the content of their characters not the color of their skin.
The recurring of theme of the War on poverty and the Great Society is that blacks in America are not individuals but an endlessly persecuted group- a group politically indoctrinated to believe it is helpless to survive in a free society without the permanent intervention of academic and political intellectuals to represent them as victims in a manufactured struggle that subverts the intent of a society based on personal liberty, individual freedom and a united population.
The cause of the Great Society was predictably naïve but the effect has been devastating. We need to be thankful that the majority of black Americans are peaceful and law abiding but the Alinsky plan does not require a majority to inflict chaos and our police are now in the trenches. The disturbing propensity of Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party to pit group against group is the seed of the Black Lives Matter movement and the targeting of police officers. These are Hillary Clinton’s children of the village. They are the poisonous legacy of her mentor and hero, Saul Alinsky.
