He should be an entertainer, unfortunately for him he decided to mix current events and political opinion into his entertainment routine and thus any reasonable observer would conclude that at least some his audience perceives it as "the news", which is what really counts and why that fig leaf doesn't work.

It's not really Jimmy's fault though, the major networks let the format decay into hybrid entertainment/opinion journalism ever since Johnny Carson and to a lesser degree Jay Leno departed. If they want the "Late Night" format to survive, they need to go back to the roots that made it successful in the first place, non-partisan, (mostly) non-political entertainment.

The networks should be firing the executives that allowed it to happen and keep happening.

Here is Trump just yesterday saying that 97% of the media is against him and since they all need licenses to stay open, their licenses should be revoked. In addition, it is not just the media he is trying to shut down. It is every company, institution and Federal departments that oppose him.

What is even worse is that a large number of all Republicans support him on this issue!



This all suggests that Freedom of Speech is no longer important and that being loyal to one man (Trump - no matter what he does), is now a requirement to stay in business, or even for an individual person to stay out of harm's way, simply by voicing his mind and his concerns.

Either Trump has lost the pulse of voters due to listening to an Echo Chamber on Truth Social, he is being poorly informed or he has drastically altered his opinion on civil liberties.

Regardless, I guarantee you that this hurts him regardless of what he thinks and he is opening the door for his opponents who were very weak before Kirks assassination.

Trump is not stupid, he has been a great political tactician and there was a time that intellectual discourse was a well known aspect of his personality (decades ago). This doesn't make sense to me from a tactical standpoint nor a legacy standpoint. He dominated due to getting the young voters, the minority voters and the Independents. Who he is appealing to now, the fully converted?

If anyone thinks that deep pocket Dem donors cannot re-appear for the midterms or more likely 2028, they are immune to the lessons of history.

He should focus on MORE free speech, in person ballots rather than computer voting etc. Then win on the principle of civil liberties and the U.S Constitution.

If he allows the Dems to become the party of the U.S Constitution, he will have thrown away a massive lead that he has enjoyed.

That's my opinion as an objective observer who knows how important it is for America to win. The entire free world requires it but only if America remains free.

The only people openly trying to silence the neo-leftists are the neo-leftists. No one wants to listen to them and TV is not forced to give them an audience. When they have something worthy to say that the American people will want or need to hear, the entire media will be available for them. But the country is tired of all their Trump Hate and their Woke Insanity and they are being removed from the airways not as a crackdown on free speech, but because no one really wants to listen to them anymore. Furthermore, if there really was any violations of free speech, or ever are, you can bet your ass the entire judicial system will get involved. Until now, the courts are quiet as a mouse.
