Yes. It's very possible that if they had controlled the border Trump may never have been elected in 2024. Not only was the border itself (and sanctuary cities) problematic but the flood of illegals coming into the country also increased crime and led to higher prices, both of which voters think Republicans are better at handling. Add to that the fact that democrats are for they/them and not knowing what a woman is, all led to their downfall. It's a hole they dug so deep that every time they try digging to get out of that hole, the digging makes the hole even deeper.
