It becomes a deterrent when the need to show ID comes just a month or so before a major election. Even though there seems to be more voter fraud at the government level than at the voter level, those kowtowing to ALEC COULD have brought this up right after Obama was elected and then voters would have 2 years to figure out how to get an ID.

It becomes a deterrent when those most likely to have a problem getting a current ID at all would be those in the inner cities (the ones that tend to vote democrat anyway). This is gerrymandering at a much more refined level.

I don't want a corrupt election. And I read how there are people who use their own positions in the election process up on charges of interfering with voter registration. It takes a LOT of false voters to have an impact in a race - it only takes one election official to shred (or lose) a few thousand registrations to swing a district. It would be absolutely recklessly stupid to think there's only 1 such case of that happening.

There is an agenda here and at least one prominent republican has stated so. That agenda is to keep those Obama supporters who are most likely to have difficulty obtaining an ID in time for the election from voting.

Texas gave 3 years notice of the ID requirement, then the Maobama admin waited till 60 days before the election to veto it using the voting rights act so Texas wouldn't have time to reverse it in court by Nov. They will be overturned because the supremes have already ruled these laws Constitutional.

One reason that "Voter ID" has just recently become such a "big issue" is because of the growing concerns related to the many millions of illegal aliens now in the US and the ever increasing problem of identity theft.

And the second reason was the controversy surrounding ACORN and its involvement in voter fraud during the '06/'08/'10 elections, which led to the defunding and eventual downfall of this corrupt organization.

Voter fraud occurs only 0.0006% of the time.

And all charges regarding ACORN have been dropped and not one of them, ever made it to court. All investigations have been closed. Which means, all these claims about ACORN corruption and voter fraud, were all bullshit!
