When it comes to seriously fighting terrorists, the US has lost its sharp profile. The US war on terror has become a farce and some of its puppets hail al-Qaeda. In the 80´s, Bin Laden came to Afghanistan in order to enjoy the US then train and equip program for anti-soviet "freedom fighters". This is also the term the US crowned Bin Laden with until they became enemies. Today, we have a different situation. Al-Nusra (al-Qaeda in Syria) is considered a terrorist group by the US but the US´ ongoing talk about moderate opposition makes people believe, this is the opposition they mean. In fact, however, this moderate opposition does not exist at all. The Free Syrian Army fights alongside al-Nusra and the SNC is a set of emblems and documents and nothing more.

"In the last 7 days, the Russian Air Force has launched a total of 148 airstrikes inside Syria, while the U.S. led “Anti-ISIS Coalition” has reportedly conducted 6 aerial attacks to contrast their U.N. Security Council rival.

According to statistical data provided by the Syrian Air Defense, the Russian Air Force has conducted 148 airstrikes against the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS), the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra”, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Jabhat Al-Shamiyah, and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) inside Syria in the last 7 days.

Meanwhile, the U.S. led Anti-ISIS Coalition has only conducted a total of 137 airstrikes against both ISIS and Jabhat Al-Nusra inside Syria’s northern countryside; however, these 137 airstrikes are the total number of attacks launched by the U.S. led Anti-ISIS Coalition in the last 13 months.

These statistics could be somewhat misleading, given the fact that the Russian Air Force is also targeting Islamist rebel groups that the U.S. and their allies either militarily/monetarily back or disengage completely.

But the statistics provided by the Syrian Air Defense also raise the question about the effectiveness of the Anti-ISIS Coalition because the Russian Air Force has not only bombarded the terrorist group frequently, they have also discovered numerous ISIS sites that have been untouched by U.S. and its allies.

As the U.S. and Russia attempt to join forces to combat the terrorist group around Syria and Iraq; it has become apparent that the U.S. resents the Russian presence and military endeavors inside Syria."

Some perspective: --Russia conducted eight airstrikes in Syria today (9/30). --US-led coalition has conducted 2,579 (2,442 by the US).

Some perspective. 8 sorties per day equals 2,920 sorties a year. How many years has the "U.S. led coalition" been operating?

Your post raises dozens of questions, I'll just ask a couple. Who knows who the Russians are bombing? Are they targeting terrorists only or Assad's enemies in general and great if the victims include terrorists? Isn't it wonderful someone else is risking blood and expending treasure in this endless war? Or do you want the USA to be #1 in sacrifice as well as everything else? Just how reliable is "statistical data provided by the Syrian Air Defense"? I'll stop there for now.

All, the fake and the real strikes of the coalition in Syria, are criminal actions against the sovereignty of Syria. And it is doubtful that ISIS suffers from the coalition´s efforts as it is on the offensive since the strikes began.

I have a counterquestion at first. Do you insist on your view that Assad´s enemies ain´t terrorists?

Is more somehow better with air strikes?

Who are your targets and what is your mission. We dropped more bombs on Vietnam than all of WWII and Korea combined

Didn't help much

I reread my post and still can't see how you got the idea that my view is "that Assad's enemies ain't terrorists". I'm sure that right now most of them are. I think we can agree though that the Russian intervention isn't motivated by altruism. They want something out of Assad. And I don't think Putin cares who they have to target to get it.

You asserted there are people fighting Assad that ain´t terrorists. This is not the case. And I don´t think there is something special Putin wants from Assad in return for the support. The reason for the war against terrorists is self-explanatory and Russia has supported Syria all the time. Now they have thrown in their political and military weight as they are on the ground in northwestern Syria and actively fight terrorists from the air. In addition, the Syrian army receives more equipment and the NDF more training from the Russians. This is an important step because the terrorists enjoy massive support from Turkey and Saudi-Arabia as well as from other nations.

And the western campaign against the Russian actions is full of hypocrisy to such an extend that it can be assumed that the US is silently on the side of those terrorists, hoping they will overthrow the Syrian government and giving a shit about what would come thereafter. There wasn´t a campaign against Turkey´s and SA´s support for the terrorists. Instead, Obama and Erdogan formed a coalition and announced a non-ISIS save-zone in northern Syria. President Assad said, that a zone in which ISIS is not allowed by US/Turkey means that ISIS is allowed in the rest of the country. However, this zone did not come into existence. Instead, ISIS is making it an ISIS-only zone. This is because the US has no moderate rebels, it could protect from ISIS.

I still can't really figure out if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I don't trust any of the dolts, TBH! I suppose somebody has to do something to stop these loons. Better them than us!

How good is your memory?

'Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich on Wednesday lent their support to the idea of arming the Syrian opposition in its fight to topple President Bashar al-Assad.
Speaking at a CNN debate in Mesa, Arizona, Romney said the United States needed to team up with allies to help the rebel
"We need to work with Saudi Arabia and with Turkey to say, 'You guys provide the kind of weaponry that's needed to help the rebels inside Syria,'" the former Massachusetts governor said."

That's from a 2012 Reuter's article. Not that long ago. Obama took a lot of flack from Republicans over that business From here it looks like the same old story. Oppose whatever Obama does, take the opposite side whatever it is no matter what. Even if you have to spin the Russian narrative for them. He was a loser then for not supporting opposition to Assad and now he's a loser for not attacking the opposition enough. It's almost a necessity not to listen to you guys just to keep ones sanity.

Russian Air Force Strikes ISIS 86 Times in the Last 24 Hours

"Russian Defense Ministry announced on Tuesday that the Russian Air Force hit 86 targets of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Raqqa, Hama, Idleb, Lattakia and Aleppo during the past 24 hours.

The spokesperson for the Ministry Igor Konashenkov said Su-34, Su-24M and Su-25SM warplanes carried out 88 sorties against 86 terrorist infrastructure targets.

The strikes, he added, destroyed command posts, ammunition and armament depots, vehicles, and plants for making explosives, field camps and terrorists’ bases.

Konashenkov noted that Su-30 warplanes joined the aircrafts taking part in targeting terrorist organizations’ sites in Syria."

And they are now being accused of targeting civilians and anti-Assad forces the the west actually support. I wondered aloud a couple of days ago if this is what was happening and if I remember correctly got scoffed at by the "bomb everybody and let Allah sort it out" crowd.

The whole story is made up. This "opposition" the medias speak of is al-Qaeda and al-Qaeda is not supported by the US but by Turkey and Saudi-Arabia. Russia fights al-Qaeda and its allies, including the FSA,, as well.
