If the investigation is cancelled there are no charges for anything. The investigation just disappears, like it never happened. Like the Trump National Security Threat Investigation lead by Peter Strzoc. After Strzoc was fired, there was no report issued, and nothing was ever heard of that investigation.

Canceling the investigation would be like waving a red flag in front of the GOP controlled House, Dragonlady. The Biden/Garland DOJ would have looked completely corrupt. Keeping Weiss on while he essentially worked FOR them was a no brainer! They could claim that he was "impartial" when it's obvious Weiss was anything but!

There was no REAL investigation to cancel. The IRS workers testified that the Trump Administration blocked their investigation at every turn. Barr's DOJ failed to obtain or execute search warrants, dragged their feet on documents requested, and failed to file charges the IRS thought were warranted - and that ALL of this happened BEFORE the 2020 election. The Senate investigated Hunter Biden in 2020 and found no evidence of wrong doing.

To me, it appear that Trump knew that the Hunter Biden investigation would find nothing, and like he told Zelensky "You don't have to investigate. Just announce the investigation, and I'll do the rest". Trump KNEW that everything he was saying about Joe Biden was a lie, and there was nothing to find. He just wanted to announce an investigation before the election, so he could campaign on the lie of the "Biden Crime Family".

I think that Trump believed that Joe Biden would cancel the investigation of his son, Hunter, just like he cancelled all of the investigations into his businesses and schemes, including an FBI investigation into Eric Trump. That investigation disappeared without a trace too.

But instead of cancelled the investigation, Biden let it play out. What has been exposed is the extent to which Donald J. Trump weaponized the federal government to go after his "enemies", and gin up false investigations into his political opponents, on no evidence, so he could smear them as corrupt in his campaign. Trump has exposed his own lies and corruption and shot himself in the foot AGAIN!!!!

Proof positive of this strategy is Kevin McCarthy's announcement yesterday of an impeachment inquiry on Joe Biden, as demanded by Donald Trump, just this past weekend when the two met to strategize.

And once again Trump has shot himself in the foot, because the sane Republicans - the ones who know that Trump will cost them yet another election, won't vote for this at all. They want to get re-elected in 2024 and most of them just squeaked in last time.

Joe Biden did this except for one, the US Attorney Delaware, David Weiss (two, actually, he left Durham in place who hasn't come up with squat, either).

Why was he left and not replaced?

Weiss worked closely with Beau Biden when he was AG for Delaware....obviously a friend of the family.

This is the guy who was most likely the person who gave a heads up to HB's defense team several times. HB's bestest buddy on an investigation into him. You can see obvious conflicts between both Bidens and Weiss.

This individual, Alexander Mackler, "served as press secretary in Joe Biden's Senate office and, later, as legal counsel in his vice presidential office" in addition to managing "the late Beau Biden's successful campaign for Delaware attorney general in 2010" and landing a spot "on the Biden-Harris transition team in 2020, helping the Biden administration create the blueprint for its Justice Department."

To say that Mackler was tight with the Bidens would seem to be a massive understatement.

Confirming how deep into Biden World he was embedded, according to Bedford, Mackler "appeared to have a close personal relationship with Hunter Biden" that included frequent correspondence with the now-First Kid and his business partners. In one such email communication dating back to October 2018, Mackler referred to Hunter as a "brother" in a message that was sent while Mackler was working for David Weiss. As Bedford notes, Mackler's LinkedIn page "lists him as having worked in the Delaware U.S. attorney's office from August 2016 to May 2019."
