The USPS is a dinosaur like Amtrak is. Both lose billions of dollars a year in operating expenses and retirements, and gets billions of dollars a year in bail outs from the US tax dollars. So we pay for other peoples retirements so they can live comfortably while many others have to live barely making it paycheck to paycheck...

Deliveries to the door are increasing, not decreasing, and the Post Office is about half the price of FedEx or UPS. It should greatly be expanded.
And so should Amtrak.
Fossil fuels are running out, and trains are by far the most efficient means of transport, right after ships. Planes and trucks won't be able to have enough fossil fuel in a couple decades, and can not run on batteries an be competitive. In fact, if we did high speed rail, we could get people to destinations faster than flying, due to the fact airports have to be far away and flight spaced apart.

and the Post Office is about half the price of FedEx or UPS. It should greatly be expanded.

Then let them do their business on their own and stop giving them our tax dollars to stay open. If they are good as you say, they will remain, if they fail.......So be it.
