To whatever extent any alien (legal or illegal) veteran of the U.S. military has served and received an honorable discharge, he or she should be automatically entitled to become a U.S. naturalized citizen (unless ineligible for some other specific legal reason).
I could get behind such a bill. Heck. I’d even support making it retroactive, including a provision allowing such individuals to be naturalized even if they had previously been ordered “removed” by an immigration court (again, provided that the deportation wasn’t based on any criminal behavior since coming into the United States).
