In the UK, the census has white, but sub-categories. White British, White Other (like Polish or German), and finally White Traveller, Gypsy or Roma. While the Travellers are of Irish Origins and are indeed white, the Gypsies of the UK and the Roma from Eastern Europe trace their origins to Mother India, the Southasian Sub-Continent. On their travells, or by their migration route, starting around 1000 AD, they accumulated iranian, turkish, middle eastern, and greek ancestries. So do you think it is ok that they are white? Or they should be not white on the census?

Finns are very familiar with all those cultures. Gypsies or Romanians are sometimes called «mustalainen» (or pl., «mustalaiset» «mustalaisia» etc.) in Finnish.

Do realize that the entire “Caucasian” race, which includes all white people as well as Latinos / Hispanics and Native Americans does originate from a “Mother India” if you go back far enough in time — but that verges toward the north of the Chinese and Mongolians, Japanese, Korean, Southeast Asian races.

There are cults in Finland with strong innate beliefs about traveling and making one's way on life's journey. "Travel" is low-class drudgery to English-speaking Hindu people, from the French verb «travailler» “to work.”

The Caucasian race branched off to the north of the central and southeast Asian races. Native Americans crossed the Bering Strait. Black people (of African descent) are more closely related to whites and other Caucasians than they are, say, to Han Chinese or other central Asian races. Australian Aborigines are essentially Black, although their skin is not so dark.
