On a global level, democracy is now failing

The founders of our country knew of the perils of democracy, which is why they devises a Republic.

An anonymous blog post advocating the advance of authoritatiran government?

The alternatives to democracy are simply more authoritarian systems, and as long as such systems have mechanisms in place to ensure that the best possible leader is the one who reaches the top, then I see no reason why these systems would not be more effective. Authoritarian systems are present and do work on this planet. When there is less bureaucracy decisions that move the country forward faster can be made instantly.

Democracy is failing

No thank you. Authoritatarianism has a strong history of the very corruption that the author rails against. With abuse common when authority is centralized in such a fashion.

Democracy works because it is ineffective and inefficient. Authority is difficult to wield or consolidate by design. And consequently, more difficult to abuse.

I'll go with an ineffective and inefficient democracy over an efficient dictator any day

As with most things too much can be a bad thing. The problem is that the definition of democracy is not real. It never addresses the concern of all members. Its also very slow and does not take into consideration that some human rights issues should be resolved without the practice of democracy.
