Yeah, that's the one! He did that while he was banging Barbara Eden.
The star of that show, Hugh O'Brian started a foundation back in the 50's "HOBY" that has helped numerous kids and is still around today.I am watching that on Tubi
No, that was Michael Ansara. He played the Indian chief Cochise in a different western series in the 50's.And he was married to Barbara Eden!

That's who we were talking about....The star of that show, Hugh O'Brian started a foundation back in the 50's "HOBY" that has helped numerous kids and is still around today.

My favorite at least the first 10 seasons is Gunsmoke.Ive been watching a few of these lately. They are kind of comforting.
Ive been watching -
Rawhide
Lawman
Wagon Train
Bonanza
Restless Gun
Wells Fargo
Cheyenns
Amongst others.
I have to say that Wagon Train is head and shoulders above the rest. The storylines are better and the dialogue is snappier.
The others are worth a watch as well.. I think Bonanza was a bit overrated. but I wouldnt argue if you think differently.
I cant seem to find some of the real gems.
High Chapperal
Alias Smith and Jones
Branded - What can you do when youre Branded and you know youre a man
I did not know that. Certainly the writing was a cut above. The plots were grnerally credible and adult. My favorite at least the first 10 seasons is Gunsmoke.
Wagon Train hit the silver screen at a perfect time when major Hollywood studios were falling on hard times and dropping pictures with major stars. Wagon Train became the go to series for Hollywood's top stars such as Betty Davis, John Wayne, and Ronald Reagan. Not only was the series getting top stars but they were getting some of the top writers in Hollywood.
My grandparents loved every episode of Wagon Train, particularly my grandad. He loved westerns. Every Saturday night we gather around the TV. 6:30 was Lawrence Welk, which I really hated. Then came Wanted Dead or Alive starring this new kid, Steve McQueen. Next came the heavyweight of the evening, Gunsmoke followed by, Have Gun Will Travel. I was in middle school, and was not allowed to go out on Sat. Night after dark so I saw all the early seasons. In high school, my curfew was 10 or 11 so I missed a lot of the latter seasons. Recently I have watched most of them.I did not know that. Certainly the writing was a cut above. The plots were grnerally credible and adult.
I just saw two episodes that I was shocked at the plotliines. Far too adult for US tv. Albeit quite tame these days. Ahead of its time.
Is there be any hot women on these shows?Ive been watching a few of these lately. They are kind of comforting.

One day Chester came running into town naked and Marshall Dillon quite shocked, asked him,Is there be any hot women on these shows?
wut?One day Chester came running into town naked and Marshall Dillon quite shocked, asked him,
Chester, what are you doing running around nekkid?
Chester began his story with that stutter M-M-M-Mr Dillon, M-M-M-Miss Kitty asked me to hook up the buckboard so she could take a ride in the country. then she asked M-M-M-Me to drive her.
Well M-M-M-Mr Dillon we were about 5 miles out of town and she started taking off her clothes
and asked M-M-M-Me to to take off M-M-M-Mine and then she looked at me and said
Chester! go to town
Amanda Blake who played Miss Kitty was a beautiful woman. On Gunsmoke she never quite got together with Matt, however in real life she was married twice and did a lot more than run the Longbranch salon in Dodge. Is there be any hot women on these shows?
Yup. Seen all of thise. Clint Walker was a great acror. Missed most of bonanza because it was on itx and our tv could only receive bbc1 back in the 60s. Backward Beirain. My grandparents loved every episode of Wagon Train, particularly my grandad. He loved westerns. I have always wondered why TV Westerns were so popular in 50's and 60's. The top 4 longest running western series all started in the 50's By the 70's, westerns were falling out the 10 shows. By the 80's and 90's there were fewer and runs longer than 3 seasons were rare.
Longest Running Western series:

Cheyenne Aired on ABC from 1955–1962 and was the first hour-long Western, as well as the first hour-long dramatic series with continuing characters to last more than one season. The show starred Clint Walker as Cheyenne Bodie, a cowboy seeking frontier justice in the American West after the Civil War.
I never really got into Bonanza. It was the first Western TV series to be broadcast entirely in color and the director was careful to include scenes that took advantage of it. Bonanza was NBC's Sunday night feature program just after Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color.Yup. Seen all of thise. Clint Walker was a great acror. Missed most of bonanza because it was on itx and our tv could only receive bbc1 back in the 60s. Backward Beirain.
