WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Examiners at the Securities and Exchange Commission are checking to ensure that Standard & Poor's followed all of its policies leading up to its downgrade of long-term U.S. debt, according to people familiar with the matter.

Compliance, Inspections and Examinations is part of its new authority under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street overhaul law...

So, the federal government is pissed that S&P (an independent provider of credit ratings) downgraded them, and they are investigating the downgrade?

Sour grapes, anyone???

Good. At least they are working instead of watching porn.

Plus, it is not like S&P has a glorious history of being right. If they didn't give toxic derivatives a AAA rating, then they would not have been the reaction for stricter regulation.

LOL, it's never just Obama's fault LOL... "You don’t agree with the Obama!!! You must be assimilated!"

So here is the real story:

Most Americans don't believe it was the Tea Party nor Republicans that held the country hostage and ultimately downgrading the countries credit... Most Americans believe or better, most Americans understand that Obama is spineless little bitch who talks a lot game but never seems to deliver, then Obama blames everyone for what he put his name on. Now the people are holding him (Obama) accountable rather than accepting the conspiracy theory that the minority in the house (the tea party) managed to hold the country “hostage” (LOL btw.)

Obama's numbers in the poll went down so all of a sudden S&P needs to be investigated where as if the American people just believed it was all the TP's fault the country was downgraded, well then there would never be any need for a "investigation."

While I do appreciate and even agree on the point you're trying to make, it's quite unrelated to my op.
