Office Depot Refuses to Print Image of Charlie Kirk

That's not what I was talking about when I said apparently 2 wrongs make a right.

I was talking about cancel culture.
Do you believe these two things are morally equivalent in any way?

1. I refuse to call an obvious man, ma'am. So his "community" floods my employer with thousands of call and threats. I get fired as a result.

2. A YouTuber posts an online celebration of a cold blooded murder and imply that if you think like this man, you need to watch your back. So I send the employer his video. He gets fired as a result.

Is having ridiculous hair a perquisite for working at that Office Depot? Cause they both look ridiculous

Is it really “cancel culture” if an employer fires an employee for being rude to a customer and violating company policy?

If she (he?) had said something about Kirk in her personal life, and then got fired from Office Depot for that despite being an adequate employee, that seems more like cancel culture to me.

This person got fired for how they treated a customer while on the clock at the job. Big difference from people getting fired for shit they say when off the clock, at home

What is it with people putting words in my mouth today? You're like the 2nd or 3rd person to do that.

I wasn't talking about specific situations. I was speaking in general. And I'm not even going to elaborate, those who have been paying attention and who aren't consumed by the hyperpartisan team mentality know what I'm talking about.

Well I guess it was stupid of me to assume you were talking about the literal topic of the thread…

My bad….

And if people keep “putting words in your mouth” over and over, maybe it’s because your meaning is not at all clear and you should work on that

I didn't say it was stupid. Don't go putting more words in my mouth.

Are we not allowed to speak in general about people's mindsets these days? Or do you believe that no cancel culture whatsoever is going on, from either side?

Yes sure

But, naturally, I assumed you were talking about the Office Depot incident and probably so did most people

That’s all

I shouldn't have posted on this thread, because I didn't even look at the TikTok video until just a few minutes ago. Frankly I'm tired of these types of "news stories" that in my view seem to be put out there for the sole purpose of riling people up against each other.... and continually pushing what in my view is a false paradigm. But that's a whole other topic.

Yeah people recording every less than perfect interaction and posting it on social media is getting ridiculously tiresome

I'm thinking you're upset that you're seeing the real divide when you want to believe we're all just innocent puppets being manipulated by some mysterious "powers that shouldn't be"
