The report about only 11 beds to treat Ebola neglects the Special Clinical Study Units such as at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md. which is a 4,000-square-foot unit inside the NIH Clinical Center. It is completely equipped to isolate and treat patients.

Temperature is only one symptom used to determine if a person is possibly infected. It is fast, simple, an objective. If the person has a temperature, then medical personnel can determine if other symptoms exist and when they started . If Ebola is confirmed by tests, then we will have the approximate time frame to begin the 21 day count. Of course this is not exact but neither is the level of contagion during the period. In the first day, the person is not very contagious but as the days pass the degree of contagion increases and peaks then continues to fall off till the end of the 21 day period. After that time, the virus will continue to live in the body for a number of weeks but the concentration is so small that the patient can't spread it. There is no treatment for Ebola but it will eventually die out.

Ebola is not considered airborne by the World Health Organization or any other healthcare organization because the possibly of infection through the air is extremely low. This is because there is so little of the pathogen present in a sneeze or cough. You would have to inhale the droplets over a long time period to have any real chance of being infected. Also, Ebola does not transfer through the air without body fluids to carry it. Influenza or measles are considered airborne because they can be transmitted in a dry state and thus travel through air ducts and on breezes. So the CDC is absolutely correct when they say Ebola is not airborne because it does not meet the criteria for airborne viruses.

Doctors, nurses, researchers, administrators, and patients make mistakes. That's why we have epidemics. There are no guarantees. Quarantines and monitoring only reduce the spread of disease.. It dies out due to the lack of suitable hosts which can be due to due to quarantines, natural immunity, or environmental changes.,

The way I see it is this appointment is all about damage control and not about controlling a contagion. In my experience the best managers actually know about the jobs and are experts in the jobs those under him do, for instance if someone tells you a bunch of bs you will know and hold that person accountable.
