That's why it was such a schlocked together mess of a 2400 page law. It was designed to fail. The plan was that when it failed, the Democrats would be there to usher in Single Payer as the "only option" to fix healthcare. The only problem with that plan is they assumed they would be in power. Oops!

I agree that Trump has taken a near term hit for this attempt to repeal Obamacare. But ultimately this is the best result because Obamacare will collapse within Trump's term and it will be replaced with a better alternative. And that would definitely NOT be Single Payer.
