A true socialist, however, is then convicted to use government power for the benefit of the people however flawed such a system is. Based on no evidence to the contrary, I don't think Obama gives a flying fig about the 'people'.

I see Obama as much more Marxist than capitalist or socialist. I believe he intends to shift ALL the power to the government as Marxism requires and reorder society in some fuzzy image he holds for it. So socialism isn't necessarily a bad word or a bad concept. It is often well intended. It simply fails sooner or later everywhere it is tried.

We should be very careful to not confuse socialism with capitalism or Marxism or totalitarianism or dictatorship or despot.
