So my question is this, If SCOTUS ruled that under a 1994 federal law known as the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), which Alito's opinion said prevents the government from "taking any action that substantially burdens the exercise of religion unless that action constitutes the least restrictive means of serving a compelling government interest."
what about me and millions of other Medicare PAYERS that under my RFRA my payments to Medicare are being used that are offensive to my religious beliefs!

Individuals should have the freedom to be whoever they want to be.

They can be whoever they want to be, have any kind of self-mutilation performed they desire, as long as the rest of us are not forced to foot the bill.
As far as Medicare paying for this, does Medicare also subsidize other forms of elective, cosmetic surgery? I specify Medicare, because the recipients of Medicare have paid into the program. As far as Medicaid is concerned, cosmetic self-mutilation should be absolutely disallowed.

I'm not seeing where anyone here is denying them "treatment" (the "right" to surgical self-mutilation), just objection to being forced to pay for such "treatment". Elective surgery should be the sole concern of the individual who elects to have it done. No one else should be concerned, especially not when it comes to footing the bill.

What about the issues that some women face that are real and significant that have small breasts, should we afford them breast implants? How about a woman/man that is "afflicted" with a large nose?
