Obama approves Medicare paying for Transgender surgery.. are you ok with that???

I'm so tired of the progressive movement

Obama should not be fast-tracking a procedure he and nobody else in the APA for that matter has little if any true understanding about.

Doctors DO NOT assist patients in amputating healthy organs in order to complete a mental delusion that they are somehow "not the gender they were born as".

It is complete madness with the blessings of society now. And without a full understanding.

Obama should be interviewed and asked if he fully understands the process by which an individual believes they are something they are not. Then we should talk about what other healthy organs or appendages that people believe they no longer want attached to their bodies should doctors be allowed in the assisted-removal of.

Then from there we can talk about assisted-suicides. Maybe a person was just simply "born wrong" and doesn't like their entire body as a whole and wants to start over?

ie, where does this medically-sanctioned "playing God" end?

Someone should take this one to the US Supreme Court and force doctors, the AMA and the APA to explain themselves on public transcripts.

Obama shouldn't get out of bed and go pee in the morning .

what's the percentage of 65 year old men and women that want sex change operations compared to the percentage that doesn't ???

gee, the RW are all shook up over this?

Each and every right wing nut seems to believe he or she has the legal right to reject and obstruct such decisions.

They are the fruit of home and private schooling.

So and and?

why am i not surprised the "republican" supports this...

honestly, do you actually think anyone, except liberals, believe you're a republican? supporting this is completely unrepublican.

this is a joke and so obama.

The Obama administration on Friday ended a 33-year ban on Medicare coverage for gender reassignment surgery — a major victory for transgender rights and a decision that is likely to put pressure on more insurers to provide coverage for such services.

The ruling by a Department of Health and Human Services board was in response to a lawsuit filed last year on behalf of Denee Mallon, 74, a transgender woman and army veteran from Albuquerque.

So my question is this, If SCOTUS ruled that under a 1994 federal law known as the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), which Alito's opinion said prevents the government from "taking any action that substantially burdens the exercise of religion unless that action constitutes the least restrictive means of serving a compelling government interest."
what about me and millions of other Medicare PAYERS that under my RFRA my payments to Medicare are being used that are offensive to my religious beliefs!

AGAIN... Obamacare is respect to RFRA totally void!

So, what you are saying is that all federal programs must be first checked with each individual citizen to make sure no one is offended. How about the Quakers? Do we need to disband the armed services because they are pacifists? Or are we only concerned if you are offended?

As to this person's surgery. Nope. I have no problem at all with it. You see, I am of the opinion her medical treatment is not my business. It seems you think it is yours.

then you support all elective surgery under medicare? right....

We've already paid dearly for Obabble's lack of balls...why not Chelsea's ???

I partially disagree. Healthcare unwittingly hits the nail on the head in Hobby Lobby. The Court reiterated that Obamacare is constitutional, yet closely held corporations are immune from provisions that substantially burden their religious beliefs .... but what about the rest of us? How about the old lady in Utah who doesn't want her tax money going to the morning after pill? Well, according to Hobby Lobby, she's just shite outta luck. (As were those of us who that Iraq was literally murder). According the Sup Ct, having more money gives you more rights. That ain't right.

As for gender reassignment surgery, to me it's more akin to a nose job than a knee rebuild. If you don't like your nose, it's elective surgery, and we have a deficit, and the govt shouldn't pay for it. If you have arthritis and trouble walking, it's a medically necessary condition, and you need treatment.

JMO.

A pathological condition that can be cured with surgery and drugs is exactly what Medicare is supposed to pay for.

One of the many non-issues the partisan right attempts to contrive into a controversy.

We already have difficulty paying for life saving healthcare for people. Why do we want to add voluntary cosmetic surgery to the mix?

I agree.

I have nothing against that kind of surgery but those wanting it should pay for it themselves.

I also wonder how popular Medicare would be if those paying into it could only take out exactly what they put it. I doubt Medicare would last long.

Just another of Barry Boys trying to bring the house down. God he's an idiot.

It is if their graduates are drinking the kool aid of the far right wing nuts.

As opposed to believing anything spewed by mouthfoaming lefties who are convinced we're just one step away from burkas being mandated evening attire?

My grandmother couldn't get life saving surgery but some mentally ill ****** can get his dick turned into a *****?

Our nation is just spinning out of control

work, earn the 40 credits necessary to qualify by paying your SS tax, and the $$ is yours, you pay for it yourself ... confusing isn't it?
