This conviction was a travesty.

For future reference, don't read much into anything he says or does in the future. It is easy to forget that he is an idiot. But it explains everything.

He tried to get back his own stolen property.

This whole thing was just an attempt to right a perceived wrong with OJ getting cleared for the murder of his wife and her friend.

The said property was subject to the profits going to the Goldmans
thats the real motive
It was no longer secret

And there was a process established for the Goldmans to acquire said property, some of which OJ could exempt for personal reasons.
