NYPD rescues alleged ice cream thief hanging from ledge during attempted escape

Rescuing stupid criminals from their own stupidity is often a policeman's job. Every time a cop doesn't shoot a criminal who violently resists arrests, that's a rescue.

What is an ice cream thief? Someone, who steals ice cream?

... yes here's written "stole 10 pints of ice cream" ... What is a pint? ... Ein Becher, I guess. Perhaps 1/4 or 1/2 liter.

Why steals someone 10 pints of ice-cream?
