But the 1st amendment is still the 1st amendment.

This idea of "hate speech" is stupid because it can be used to restrict people's rights.

No hatespeech laws.

There shouldn't even be "hate crime" laws. A crime is a crime, and there's punishments for pretty much all crimes.

It's just a way of muddying the system; and they immediately tried to follow it up with the "Hate Speech" garbage here.

Thank God it didn't work. That crap gets into "thoughtcrimes" territory.
